Your support and contributions will enable us to pay for our internal costs (like this here website) and for our bigger expenses (renting the room at the convention center is a whopper!). We are entirely run by volunteers and whatever money is left over goes right into the hands of our charity of choice...The Community Kitchen. Click on the 'Donate Now' button and you will be sent to our PayPal account where you can complete your transaction. Thanks oodles!!
In 1990 art teacher, John Hartom, created Empty Bowls. The premise is simple...artisans make bowls, folks make food, and then there is an event. Worldwide all of the events are different and unique. They all share the commonality of donating all of their proceeds to a local organization that deals with hunger. So simple, yet so powerful.
In 2008, Michael Terra and his family participated in Paducah's Artist Relocation Program. As a clay guy, Michael had participated in many Empty Bowl events across the country. Once he realized that there wasn't a local event, he jumped on the opportunity to serve his new community. The Empty Bowls Project of Paducah was born.
Easy Peasy...let's all work together and end local food insecurity.
We know you are as excited as we are for our annual fundraiser...

A heartfelt thanks to everyone that came out to support our efforts to end local food insecurity and to everyone that volunteered tirelessly for hours. We are still waiting for some donations to roll in and to pay a few bills. We are thrilled to be able to donate $18,000 to the Community Kitchen.
